ABOUT MS. MATTHEWS

Hey there, boozhoo, tansi, salut, and welcome to my online store! I’m Ms. Matthews and I’m so glad you’re here. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and what I do.

I’ve been teaching since 2008 and have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of students with diverse learning needs, from Kindergarten to grade 9, both in traditional and online classroom settings. As an Anishnabeg educator, I bring a unique perspective and approach to my teaching. I’m passionate about creating resources that reflect Indigenous perspectives and that promote an understanding and appreciation of Indigenous cultures and ways of knowing. I believe that every student deserves to see themselves and their culture reflected in their education.

I’m also a Google Certified Educator Level 1. I’ve found that Google products such as Google Forms, Sheets, and Slides can be incredibly powerful tools for engaging students in new and exciting ways while also addressing diverse learning needs. Over the years, I’ve developed a variety of strategies to engage and motivate my students, while fostering independence and promoting lifelong learning skills. My resources are designed to help teachers integrate technology with best teaching practices, making it easy for them to use engaging and interactive lessons and resources that their students will love.
